Portraits of Quality
“To produce exceptional coffee you have to start with remarkable people”
Portraits of Coffee is a compilation of essays on some of Guatemala’s finest coffee growers. Ten producers are highlighted in this piece.
From Agapito Orozco who grows coffee in a land of jagged tooth-like mountains accessible only by mule, to Luis Pedro Zelaya a fourth generation farmer struggling against modernity in the 16th century capital of Antigua. Translated into Japanese.
Green Book
Anacafé, Guatemala’s coffee growers' association has over 90,000 members and represents Guatemalan coffee worldwide. The Green Book was commissioned to examine the environmental impact of coffee production in Guatemala. Over a dozen interviews were conducted and countless books were used in the research of this publication.
The result is a visually appealing, easy to understand piece that has changed the way buyers, importers and roasters of Guatemalan coffee view this complex subject. With over copies in print, the Green Book has been translated into Spanish, Japanese and Italian.
